Easter Holidays 2016

Finally some NEWS!

So Glen and myself have been busy getting some jobs done at Mt. Wheeler – we have made some improvements, we have a second arena started, put a toilet at arena, built a shed for spectators, booked some exciting clinics, organised some school holiday activities and set a date to start some kids riding lessons.

School holiday activities

WEEK ONE: Thursday 31 March, Saturday 2nd April,

WEEK TWO:         Tuesday 5th April, Thursday 7th April

Both weeks of the holidays, 8.30 am – 11.30am

For primary aged kids and under (tiny-tots welcome too)

Come along for lots of crazy pony fun!

  • with lead rides,
  • short lessons in horsemanship,
  • a pony colouring competition to win MORE horse riding for next holidays,
  • a cowboy photo booth
  • Complementary tea and coffee for the grown-ups while they wait and watch all the fun.

No need to book, $20/child for as long or as little as you stay,

parents accompany children for the morning.

Enclosed shoes for the riders, we provide riding helmets.

Sausage sizzle available each day.

WEEK ONE: Wednesday 30th March, Friday 1st  April,

WEEK TWO: Wednesday 6th April, Friday 8th April

For children aged 10 years and above.

If you have never ridden or just had a handful of lessons, this horsemanship lesson will be just like having your very own horse, we’ll show you what you need to know to stay safe around horses, how to groom and saddle up, how to mount and dismount as well as how to ride!

$65, morning tea included, 8 am – 12 noon

 Limited places so please book early to avoid disappointment.

No need for parents to stay with this class.

Riding Lessons for Kids

Starting after the Easter Holidays there will be Saturday Lessons for children aged 10 years and above,  April Starting Saturday 16th

$55, 1 h riding with 30 mins horsemanship ($40 byo horse)lessons will focus on good basic practical horsemanship skills which will be useful both during lessons and outside of lessons, children with their own horses will be able to bring them along to use in class.

The format of these lessons will be a work in progress, subject to change as we find better ways of doing the same.

Something for the grown ups:

Fridays riding for fun and fitness, suitable for all levels of riders, complete beginner or experienced.

It’s a casual morning of horses, where you can learn at your own pace or just enjoy the company whilst out on the ride. We saddle up, go on a trail, ride on the arena and finish up with morning tea.

Starting Friday 15th April as the kids return to school for term two.

Your horse or ours,

$55 for the morning – what a bargin!

$40 byo horse.

 

Sunday horsey sessions with Glen;GlenInTheYards

May 15th

Especially suited to those with their own horses, learn to how to iron out any kinks you have in your relationship with your horse. Working both on the ground and under saddle, each session will focus on the needs of the riders of the day.

Participants always find these clinics useful and productive.

If you just want to learn more and don’t have a horse, you can use one of our school horses for the morning.

BYO lunch and those with their own horses can continue the horsey activities on our arena and property trails for the afternoon.
