2025 Riding Lessons

Riding Lessons for 2025

Building Strong Foundations in Horse Riding

At Capricorn Equestrian, we believe in teaching the basics well. Over the years, our focus on core skills like keeping your heels down, developing an independent seat and using soft hands. This has given many young riders the tools they need to progress to their own horses and move into in competitive riding. These foundational skills also set our students up for success in the equestrian and animal-related industries. Former students are now working in veterinary science, equine science, horse training and stock work.

We view our riding lessons as more than just learning how to ride—they’re life skills. Along with riding, you’ll gain essential horsemanship skills, such as ground work and understanding how to meet all the needs of a horse. These lessons will prepare you for a future as a horse owner.

LESSONS

We teach the basics well. Over the years our horse riding basics; heels down, independent seat, soft hands, has given many young riders the tools they needed to move onto their own horses and become great competitive riders. As well as being the foundations for the young riders to go on as adults and continue their career in equestrian or animal related industries. Former students are currently working in trick training, vet science, equine science and stock work.

We consider our riding lessons to be learning a life skill, where you will learn not just how to ride but also safe horsemanship skills on the ground and how to meet all the needs of a horse should you be lucky enough to own one in the future.
